Story Land Announces Roar-O-Saurus, Brand New Wooden Family Roller Coaster
At the IAAPA Expo (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) in Orlando, Florida, Story Land in Glen, New Hampshire held a joint press conference with The Gravity Group. Together they unveiled Roar-O-Saurus, an all new family style wooden coaster that will be similar to the Wooden Warrior roller coaster at Quassy Amusement Park. The new coaster is the centerpiece for a new dinosaur themed area of the park. Roar-O-Saurus is replacing the circus, which has been at the park for six seasons. To get an idea of the ride, here is a video:
Let’s look at the stats:

Roar-O-Saurus will have a colorful train that holds 12 passengers and will be led by Story Land’s newest family member, “Rory” the little Dino with the big roar! There are twelve moments of airtime. Riders must be 42″ or taller to ride Roar-O-Saurus. “This unique wooden coaster will provide children of all ages the experience and memory of riding their first ‘big’ coaster with Mom or Dad, or vice versa,” explains Story Land’s General Manager Eric Dziedzic. “Our niche in the theme park industry has always been young families with children 2-12. Our new coaster will expand that demographic slightly and add to the family memories created here in the Land Where Fantasy Lives.” Take a look at a train rendering below:
My family used to bring me to storyland every year when I was younger. Now that I’m older we have not had a reason to return. This may just be that reason. Wooden Warrior is epic. There’s no reason this wouldn’t be as well.
