Top 5 Restaurants at Six Flags New England

#5: Johnny Rockets
Located in the DC Superhero Adventures area of the park near Superman: The Ride, Johnny Rockets offers traditional American cuisine options such as burgers, fries, onion rings, and some seriously delicious milkshakes. The restaurant is themed to the 1950s and has some great decor to match the environment of the eatery. The interesting part is that Johnny Rockets is actually a restaurant chain that has a partnership with Six Flags so that they can put their restaurants inside the parks. That being said, if you have ever been to a Johnny Rockets outside of Six Flags New England, you may be wondering why this location isn’t higher on the list. Well, the reason is that since this Johnny Rockets location has recently been added to the Six Flags Dining Plan, their products are no longer from Johnny Rockets, they are from Six Flags. That means that “The Original Hamburger” is actually just another Six Flags burger. That being said, the restaurant is still much better than some other park locations, hence it being in the top five, and has some quality items such as onion rings and their famous milkshakes, which are reason alone for a trip to Johnny Rockets.
Pros: Environment, location, dining plan options, Air Conditioning Cons: Occasional long waits, no original burgers.
Standout item: Milkshakes
Overall Rating: 3/5
#4: Filling Station
Directly next to Fireball in the Rockville area of the park, Filling Station is on this list for
one reason and one reason only: the Conewich. If you find yourself unfamiliar with what a
Conewich (called a Coaster Cone at SFNE) is, then you are in for a figurative and literal
treat. A Conewich by definition, according to their website, is “a single strip of dough
wound in a spiral … and then baked.” However, the cone is just the beginning. After the
cone is baked, at Filling Station you can choose various fillings to put in the cone, including
multiple flavors of mac and cheese, pulled pork and buffalo chicken. If this sounds
incredibly delicious, that’s because it is. By far one of the most delicious and special treats
at the park, the Coaster Cone may be small in size, but packs a serious punch that is enough
to hold guests over for multiple hours of fun. And it’s even on the dining plan! There is also
a nice covered seating area to smoke a gel strain and relax and take in some awesome views of Fireball. Filling
Station also includes fries, chicken bites, soft pretzels, popcorn, sangria (!?) and a refill
station for drink cups
Pros: Hardly ever a wait, seating area, Coaster Cone
Cons: Occasional bees around soda area
Standout item: Coaster Cone

#3: Go Fresh Café
If you feel like going on a diet from just reading the previous entries, don’t fret, number
three on our list is Go Fresh Café, an eatery devoted to healthy and vegetarian options.
Right in the heart of Kidzopolis, this smaller venue offers delicious fresh salads, fruit, wraps
and veggie burgers for vegetarian or vegan park goers as well as guests who would prefer
some non-fried options to enjoy during their day. There are many different preparation
options here for bean burgers as well as various salads such as Caesar, Grilled Chicken and
Grilled Buffalo Chicken. What’s more, most menu items are included on the dining plan,
and even without the dining plan, the prices here are relatively low, making Go Fresh Café a
great healthy option located centrally in the park
Pros: Healthy options, dining plan, location
Cons: Occasional long lines
Standout item: Black Bean Burgers
Overall rating: 4/5
#2 Take Six Café
Take Six Café, located at the entrance of Looney Tunes Movie Town from the North End, is
a restaurant that straddles the line between “best of both worlds” and “how much is too
much?”. Take Six Café takes the number two spot on this list because it offers a shockingly
large variety of food items. Just some of the many items on the menu include mac and
cheese, pizza, pasta salad, meatball gyros, steak, and cheese as well as veggie sandwiches,
subs, salads and many different types of pasta. This is an incredibly diverse menu, and Take
Six Café is definitely the go-to dining location in the North End, and most items are on the
dining plan. Having eaten here on many different occasions, I can especially vouch for the
spaghetti and meatballs as well as the salads, the food is definitely high quality here. There
are also Coke Freestyle machines at this location, which is always a plus, especially for
refillable souvenir cups. However, the reason that Take Six did not take the top spot is
because of the very long wait times for the food. On a good day, expect to wait at least ten
minutes due to the constant lack of necessary staff and a variety of cooking stations and
menu items. While ten minutes may not sound like a terribly long time to wait when at a
theme park –especially for the first or only time– time management is crucial. My advice
would be to stop here only if you are a membership/season pass holder, frequent park
visitor or just a guest who prefers a more laid back approach to spending time at the parks.
The food is great, but the variety may not make up for the wait.
Pros: Expansive menu options, dining plan, Coke Freestyle machines, Air Conditioning, healthy options
Cons: Frequent long waits/crowds
Standout item: Pasta’s

#1: JB’s Smokehouse Barbeque
This western-themed eatery located in Crackaxle Canyon, directly across from Goliath,
offers unbelievable barbecue options in a sit-down environment surrounded by large TVs
and New England sports memorabilia. Just some of the mouth-watering options include a
myriad of barbecue burgers, chicken tenders, brisket, pulled pork, cheese fries, and chicken
salads. The main attraction at JB’s is without a doubt the pork options, heavily advertised
around the restaurant, and for good reason. The pulled pork sandwich is likely the best
food item in the entire park, and the burgers are exceptional. The pork and burgers are not
the typical meat used at the other locations around the park, and that fact is abundantly
clear upon taking a bite into any delicious JB’s sandwich. The chicken salads at JB’s are also
outstanding and are a perfect mix of savory and sweet with a little bit of healthy as well.
The environment is also first-rate here; after placing an order, guests take a number and
seat themselves, and a staff member brings the food directly to the table. JB’s is the closest
thing to a sit-down restaurant at Six Flags New England, and it stands out for sure. The
many flat screen TVs broadcast various sports games and provide for a sports bar style
environment without the bar, however alcoholic drinks are served here. Also available at
JB’s are two Coke Freestyle machines. The kicker at JB’s is that despite the many premium
food items, almost all are included on the dining plan. Overall, JB’s Smokehouse Barbeque is
by far the flagship dining location at Six Flags New England, and no trip to the park would
be complete without a visit.
Pros: Delicious food, Coke Freestyle machines, Air Conditioning, dining plan, environment, location.
Cons: Occasional waits (but worth it!)
Standout item: Pulled pork sandwich
