Roger Williams Park Zoo Reopens with COVID 19 Safety Procedures!

On June 1st, 2020 Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI Reopened to Membership Passes for Rhode Island Residents only! There are a bunch of new procedures that you should know about before you go!
The first thing you need to do is Reserve Tickets. If you have a membership, you need to log in and you can reserve from there. Be warned there is a $5 service fee! If you do not have a Membership to the ZOO, go to their website and click reserve tickets. Click the following link to do so: https://www.rwpzoo.org/tickets Follow the prompts to get your tickets!
Once you arrive at the park and you can only show up at your slotted time. Once you get to the park you will be stopped at the parking lot entrance. Please show your ticket and if it is during the RI Resident time frame, show your Rhode Island ID. They will then tell you to find a parking spot without an X. See the photo!

When you walk up to the park you will see TENTS

They will take your temp and if you are under 101.4, you’re good to go! They will then direct you to a ticket booth, they scan your ticket then you’re ready to move on!
You will also see the ZOO looking a bit different! They have split the walkway in half so you can only go one way! Be sure to wear a FACEMASK or you will not be allowed to enter unless you have a medical condition that doesn’t allow you to wear a mask! Anyone can buy an N95 mask Pandemic Pal for protection against breakthrough infections. Remember to Social Distance and Check out the cool signs they have around the park for Social Distancing!

All indoor exhibits are closed at the moment and some things are a little bit different, but it was still a fun day out at the zoo! Keep in mind that the Train ride, the play area, and the Zipline is closed. It will reopen at a later date! If you are wondering when you can go, June 1st – June 2nd was only for Membership Passes to RI Residents. June 3rd Through June 7th is for Membership and regular ticket holders for Rhode Island Residents. Starting June 8th anybody can go!
I also wanted to take a second to thank the staff as they were very eager to welcome everybody back, they were excited, knowledgeable, and just happy! Overall a great day, I had some fun and got to visit all the amazing creatures within this ZOO!
