Six Flags New England 2021 Season THOUGHTS!

2020 was a hell of a year for everyone with COVID19 breaking out and causing havoc in everybody’s lives! 2020 ended up being the year that Six Flags New England stayed closed until Holiday IN The Park Lights started up on Thanksgiving Weekend!
Think about that for a moment, a year without RIDES, FOOD, Water Parks , and fun at one of our favorite Theme Parks! While we have all lost some family due to the pandemic and those left standing are on the outside looking in as to when will we be able to ride some of our favorite rides, enjoy our summer at a local Theme Park! While we all have many wonderful things that got us out of 2020, I am just wondering when Gov. Baker will allow the park to open this year?
A lot of people have asked me this question and the answer isn’t so simple. Last year with all the different levels put forth by the state of MA, Six Flags Fell into Phase 4 which required a vaccine and or treatment to COVID19 to open. We are now into 2021 with slow Vaccine Roll outs finally, but that does not mean our usual April opening is going to happen. I am going to go down the rabbit hole of why I think that is not going to happen and take a peek as to why in my own opinion.
IF the statement of Phase 4 was a vaccine and or treatment, we have the vaccine! If you look at Six Flags New Englands Website and take a peek in the hours section, you will see a statement that says late spring opening. I think that could be true, but when I look into my Crystal Ball, the earliest I see is Memorial Day weekend! This is for a couple of reasons!
- The Vaccine ROLL OUT is slow and not enough supply at the moment to ramp up enough vaccines into people to be able to get us to where we need to be. GOV BAKER seems to be doing this for safety reasons to keep certain businesses closed until we are at that point. You could see places like Theme Parks are outdoors and in my opinion much safer than going to Walmart . OUTSIDE seems to be over 65 degrees helps with keeping the virus from spreading as easy as indoors! Six Flags does have a ton of COVID19 Safety Precautions in place to keep both You and I safe! TO my knowledge there has not been any COVID19 Break outs at any Theme Parks! I think The Memorial Day target is actually obtainable and not far fetched!
- Maybe the Parks can open in APRIL, but may not because in 2021 when they do open, they may just open alter than usual to help keeping costs down as the parks do not really get busy until after Memorial Day in a pre pandemic world! Why not do a little bit of cutbacks, save some money and make money when the parks would be busy! I don’t agree with this path forward only because lets face it, if you have been paying for your membership/passes , we all want in the park! We miss the park, but with COVID and those with memberships that do not cancel will get the gift card with the money ( which can also be used to buy an Unique personalized gifts ) you spent until they open the park!SO they owe people money, though you will only be able to spend it at the park! 2021 for the most part is the year they can finally start building towards a better future and start making money once again!
I am curious to see what you guys think? Do you think they will open in APRIL, Memorial Day, a Later date, or maybe not at all again this year! Let us know what you think!
Don’t forget when they do open, Super GIRL will be opening finally! It should be good to go when they open as the ride itself is almost complete! Not sure what other work has to be done, but we shall be able to ride Super girl this year!
We do not know an opening date yet at the moment with so much uncertainty at the moment with COVID19! Stay tuned for more info and make sure to follow us on social media & YOUTUBE!
Keep On Coastin’
Josh!
