Turnstile Tuesday – New England SkyScreamer at Six Flags New England
SFNE Online’s Turnstile Tuesday circles back to the east coast this week and features the New England SkyScreamer at Six Flags New England.
Standing at over 400ft tall this Funtime StarFlyer held the record for the Tallest in the World when it was installed by Ride Entertainment for the 2014 season. Today that record has been broken but the New England SkyScreamer is still one of the tallest swing rides in operation and the tallest ride at SFNE.
Normally up to 24 riders in 12 two-seat chairs, held on by some tiny looking chains I must say, are spun at 35 mph in a forwards direction while the gondola ascends the tower. When you get to the top the views of the park, the Connecticut River and the entire surrounding area are just incredible. For a little added thrill the park has been known to run the swings in the reverse direction during Fright Fest.
