Turnstile Tuesday – Fireball at Six Flags New England

Who misses hearing the sounds of rides running and people screaming at Six Flags New England? Now that we are getting closer to hopefully an opening day announcement for SFNE let’s talk about and listen to Fireball. It’s our featured Turnstile Tuesday ride of the week and we have a full off-ride video to go with it.
Fireball is a 22M Giant Loop ride made by Larson International, Inc. Standing at over 70ft tall this ride starts off slow going forwards and then backwards while getting higher and higher up the loop each time.
If you like hangtime this ride can deliver. The higher you go the more you’ll get until you start to do full revolutions around the loop and eventual stop and hang upside down at the very top. Then you’ll switch rotation directions and start to do full revolutions the opposite way before finally slowing down and coming back to a stop at the bottom.
Most of the riders sit face to face with those across from them. If you prefer to have no one in front of you with just an open view then make sure you go to one of the far ends. These face out with no one else in front.

Located in Rockville the ride fits in well with its 50’s theme featuring hot rod type car faces on each end of the train. At night this ride has a great lighting package that is visible from several areas of the park.
Six Flags has added these flats to a lot of their parks. What’s your thoughts about Fireball and these Larson Giant Loops in general? Taking the it’s not a roller coaster comments out of it do you like having Fireball as a flat in the park? Do you think it fits in and looks good in Rockville? What other thoughts might you have on it?
As we say each week thank you again to everyone who has continued to like and share our Turnstile Tuesday posts. Also, don’t forget to message us if you’d like to share pics or video clips of your favorite rides for consideration in future posts.
