FlyOver in Las Vegas currently features two flight ride experiences, The Real Wild West & Iceland. Renowned multimedia studio Moment Factory created much of the space leading up to the two theaters as well as the pre-show which helps to set the tone for the adventure to come. There’s also The Lost Cactus Bar, a full-service bar serving craft cocktails and bites, in the main lobby along with a gift shop that each theater exits into. Thanks to the team at FlyOver we had a chance to check out both experiences while we were in Vegas.

So What is FlyOver Las Vegas?
- An Incredible Flight Ride Experience: You’ll hang suspended, feet dangling over the seats of the chairlift-style platform, before a 52.5-foot-wide spherical screen while the film, shown in stunning 8K high definition, whisks you away on an exhilarating journey across land, sea and sky — all set to a captivating musical score.
- Flight Motion Seats: Engineered to swoop, dip and turn — giving you the true feeling of flight.
- Wraparound Screen: The 52.5-foot-wide spherical screen surrounds you and puts you right into the action.
- Feel Wind & Mists: You won’t just see these incredible places. Through special effects you’ll feel them, too.
- Scents Of Nature: Unique scents are used to transport you to the iconic locations in the films for a fully immersive experience.
Ok now we’ve covered what it is or if you are familiar with Soarin’ at Disney you already get what it is. As mentioned there are currently two ride experiences you can check out at FlyOver Las Vegas. Here’s a little preview of what you can expect from each.
The Real Wild West
The Real Wild West transports riders to iconic destinations as they’ve never been seen before. The production was led by Creative Director and former Disney Imagineer Rick Rothschild, along with Cannes Lion Award-winning director Dave Mossop.

Before boarding there is a panoramic, six-minute pre-show that is projected across 360° wraparound walls and a central hanging medallion. It chronicles the booms and busts of the American West, from the Cambrian Explosion through to Gold Rush ghost towns and Silicon Valley startups, setting the stage for the flight to follow.

Once you enter the theater and board, you’ll reach new heights with panoramic scenes of the west, achieved by filming with a helicopter-mounted camera. These scenes immerse the riders into the American West from a completely new vantage point. Some of the stops riders will experience during the journey are:
- A solar eclipse over a volcanic peak in Oregon’s Cascade Volcanic Arc
- Crashing, 65-foot surf waves at Lost Coast in California
- Winter beauty in Yellowstone National Park with a team of stallions
- Water skiing in winter snow at Cascade Lake
- A Hualapai traditional “Bird Dance” in the Grand Canyon
- A speed demon Streamliner soaring over Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah
- Two Navajo horseback riders traversing Monument Valley, Arizona
- Western movie set action in Goldfield Ghost Town, Arizona
- Fly fishing in the woods outside of Telluride, Colorado
- The vantage point of a wingsuiter as they descend Washington’s Stehekin Mountain
- And of course views of the Las Vegas Strip

The one-of-a-kind experience tells the geographic story of the nation. You get to adventure to the land of fire and ice!

Hang on to your seat and be swept away to explore views of the island’s glaciers and volcanoes while bringing Vikings and Norse mythology to life on the screen as you soar across pristine Iceland. Legendary locations include:
- Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier
- Mountains of Hörgársveit
- Island of Elliðaey
- Aldeyjarfoss Waterfalls
- City of Reykjavík and more!
Like The Real Wild West, FlyOver Iceland, also features a two-part pre-ride experience that explores the roles of nature, time and humankind on this ancient island while featuring volcanoes, glaciers, trolls and more.

Final Thoughts?
Simply said, FlyOver Las Vegas is a really fun experience. This FlyOver locations feature film, The Real Wild West, has a good storyline and pre-show. The flying theater experience is excellent with lots of great imagery along with all the motion, wind, mist and smells. If you want to feel like you are moving even faster then check out the Iceland film since it takes the speed aspect up a notch providing an extra thrill.
Both films are well worth your time so we highly recommend that you do the double feature when you visit. You can easily do them both in about 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on if you want to grab a cocktail and some snacks in between the films.
SFNE Online wants to sincerely thank the FlyOver Las Vegas team for providing us with the opportunity to check out what we now agree is the Strip’s latest must-see attraction! We can’t wait to experience even more of the different attractions that Pursuit offers soon. The next time you’re in Vegas make sure you check out the FlyOver Las Vegas Experience!
